Androgynous Army

My BA Graduate Collection dances the line between masculinity and femininity through exploration of army uniforms and the soldiers who wore them. As a Gender Neutral weave designer, I have developed digitally woven textiles which meld florals and military camouflage and sit alongside hand woven silks transformed into frills alongside military detailing. The textiles explore colour in intense jewel brights inspired by the fabrics of soldiers’ medals as well as softer and more feminine pastels and neutrals.
